Sinestro has been a hero and a villain but through it all he
has remained a fan favorite. Whether you love him or love to hate him Sinestro
has found a way to become on of DC’s most popular characters, so much so that
when Green Lantern was relaunched in 2011 as a part of the New52 Geoff Johns
made him the star of the title.
Sinestro continued to be a core focus during Johns’ New52
Green Lantern run even playing a pivotal role in his epic finale on the book
Green Lantern #20 leaving fans to believe that they may have seen the last of
Sinestro for a while. Then last month Johns’ resurrected him in the final page
of Forever Evil #4 giving fans a shocking cliffhanger.
Today DC confirmed that Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun) and Dale
Eaglesham (Green Lantern #23.4: Sinestro) will be teaming up to bring Sinestro back
in his own title set to debut on April 16th. The new series has Sinestro desperate
after having lost everything he’s ever loved including his home planet, his people
and his best friend. Fellow Sinestro Corp member Lyssa Drak (last seen in September’s
Villains Month one-shot) will play a role in the new series reminding Sinestro that
while he may have lost a lot the one thing he will always have is fear.
