Today DC Comics announced that fan-favorite villain Deathstroke will arrive on comic book shelves this October in the new ongoing comic book series DEATHSTROKE!
“I’ve always been a big Deathstroke fan, dating back to my teenage years and he’s only gotten more bad-ass with time. He’s an incredible character, whether you’re playing him in a video game or watching him on TV or reading him in a comic book. People love Deathstroke now more than ever due to all the avenues he’s available in, myself included.”
The deadliest mercenary in the DC Universe, a.k.a. Slade Wilson (as seen on the CW TV series Arrow) stars in his own new monthly series written and drawn by Tony S. Daniel (SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN, DETECTIVE COMICS).
“I tell people he’s sort of like a tricked out Batman, but he’ll kill you. Of course he’s not anything like Bruce Wayne, but he is a man with money and the means to pay for the gadgets and weaponry he’ll need to accomplish any goal. I’ve always been drawn to characters with a dark side and I think that makes him complex and compelling.”
See Deathstroke as never before in this exciting new series, with one surprise after another as we see Slade Wilson in the fight of his life! He is, without question, the world’s greatest assassin and one of the most feared people on the planet—he’s been a mercenary-for-hire after his involvement in Team 7, has been recruited onto Task Force X, a.k.a The Suicide Squad—now we’ll get to know more about the complex man behind the missions.
“What I find interesting and why I wanted to write (and draw) Deathstroke, is the opportunity I have to make people give a damn about his missions and motivations. Giving readers a reason to invest emotionally in this guy’s missions and stories is what I think will make a difference for this new title and is key for me and one of my main goals.”
And that’s not all, DC Collectibles debuts a DEATHSTROKE bust designed by Jim Lee!
To paraphrase the old saying “As one door opens another closes” in this case Tony S. Daniel’s run on Superman/Wonder Woman with writer Charles Soule. Daniel tweeted a message to the Superman/Wonder Woman Fans:
