This is the year of Wonder Woman with the iconic first lady of DC celebrating her 75th anniversary this year, and will star in her first solo movie in 2017. DC has been celebrating the Amazing Amazon at New York Comic Con, debuting her stamps, but it was the answer to a question from the audience today at the first-look screening of the animated Justice League Dark. that got a lot of attention. Warner Bros. Animation Supervising Producer James Tucker revealed another Wonder Woman animated project may be on the horizon.
“We discussed with Warner video, and they have Wonder Woman on their radar in some form or fashion.”
The character’s last animated solo movie was in the 2009 direct-to-DVD film Wonder Woman, which was loosely based on the 1987 comic book arc Gods and Monsters by George Perez, Greg Potter and Len Wein. The movie starred Keri Russell as Wonder Woman and Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor, with Alfred Molina as Ares, Rosario Dawson as Artemis, Marg Helbenberger as Hera, Oliver Platt as Hades and Virginia Madsen as Hippolyta.
