Welcome Comic Frontline‘s Top 5 Panels! This is where the Frontline Six unite to pick their Top 5 comic panels from the week, and then you guys get to vote below which panel was your favorite. In next week’s post, we will announce the winner from the poll.
Fan Panel Pick From Last Week – The Amazing Spider-Man #10 – Pete
Honorable Mention – West Coast Avengers #5 – We Have To Talk Again
Having Cap intimidate Kate was priceless. “Yes sir”, “Got it, sir”.
5. Blackbird #3 – Mom?
The world of Blackbird just got even more interesting. And damn Bartel’s character designs are on point!
4. Die #1 – I Type Slowly
3. Shazam #1 – Name Troubles
2. Snotgirl #12 – What do you Want?
OMG LOTTIE’S OBSESSION WITH COOLGIRL!
1. Snotgirl #12 – I Get It
Snotgirl is all about masks! Lottie never understands people’s true motives, including her own. Every character is complex and doesn’t spell out their true feelings – a lot like real life. Caroline AKA Cool Girl is the most mysterious of them all. Does she like Lottie? Is she using her? Who the hell knows! But this scene is the small glimmer of hope that Caroline semi-cares for Lottie.
Honorable Mention: Batman #60 – No More!
Gordon is sick of Batman’s extreme measures lately!
5. Adventures of Super Sons #5 – Poke
Just a funny scene as we see Jon’s half human physiology does him no favors in the future.
4. Shazam #1 – The Butt Bump
This scene is so funny as we see child antics in full force in this battle.
3. The Wrong Earth #4 – Deuce is Number One!
The Harley Quinn of this world just schooled its Joker!
2. Shazam #1 – What Fun is That?
Love this scene not just because of Mary Marvel, but because it basically tells us that Shazam is better when it’s a family affair, which is cool.
1. Doomsday Clock #8 – The… What?
Finally, the JSA is making its return!
5. Adventures of Super Sons #5 – Let’s Do This
4. Batman #60 – Father
3. Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon – Like Father, Like Son/Legacy!
2. Shazam #1 -Marvel Family On the Scene
Who’s in charge?
1. Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon – Master Morph
Honorable Mention: Power Rangers: Soul Of The Dragon OGN – Green Genes!
5. Star Trek Vs. Transformers #3 – Fortress Tiberiuos!
4. Shazam! #1 – So Close!
Man he was thisclose to saying CAPTAIN MARVEL! I hope this doesn’t become a running gag though, where he or someone else keeps almost saying his true name and all. I want him to regain that legacy, call the book Shazam, but call him Captain Marvel. I also love that it is the inner Marvel Family in this scene with Billy, Mary and the wrong hair colored Freddy, nice touch.
3. Adventures Of The Super Sons #5 – There’s Something About The Letter L
2. Power Rangers: Soul Of The Dragon OGN – Legacy!/Like Father, Like Son
1. Batman #60 – No More!
There are some iconic things that go beyond the pages, and one of those is the Bat Signal because you don’t have to read comics to know what it is, and now with a different kind of Bat, from a different Gotham Knight, that icon is destroyed. But I guess in a pinch Gordon can always use Duke to call Batman, I mean that is why he has that name Signal right?
5. Venom #9 – What’s Going On?
Eddie Brock is going through some family issues: his dad does not want him, he finds out his dad doesn’t remember his sister, and now he possibly has a brother? What the heck is going on?
4. Red Hood: Outlaw #29 – I Was Wrong
Jason admits to Kate that he was wrong to do what he did to the Penguin was pretty powerful, and I love how they re-established their relationship.
3. Uncanny X-Men #4 – Slice and Dice
Laura wanting to slice and dice the shark is totally in character for her. Love it!!!
2. The Walking Dead #186 – BLAM!
Rick is forced to take one of his own, which is Dwight. He has been a loose cannon for a while. Due to this situation, it has now caused a wedge between him and Michonne. Best issue in a long time!
1. Shazam #1 -Marvel Family On the Scene
The family in this first issue is what made this book for me. This is just one of the many scenes I enjoyed if Johns continues this type of writing for this series look for this title to possibly be the book of the year for 2019.
