Sabrina has to save her new friends before the Krakken is unleashed. Thompson does a great job bringing the supernatural to an everyday teenager’s world. This issue gives a nice dose of all aspects of Sabrina’s life with her Aunts and Salem at home, her friends and love interest at school, and the supernatural all around. Veronica and Andy Fish do a nice job balancing things with the art giving us the darkness we need at just the right moments, and keeping it within reason to the lighter moments.  This issue continues to balance the light-heartedness of the original sitcom with the darker tones of the new Netflix series. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

Goldar attacks the teens at the Juice Bar to aid Rita in her search for a Green Ranger candidate and Alpha-1 decides he can end it all. WOW! Parrott continues to knock it out of the ballpark with this book. His use of and importance of the flashbacks are showcased here giving us a nice touching backstory to Ernie, a character with near zero development in the series and the first meeting of Jason and Zack. But this issue also has a ton of action for those who like Power Rangers for that side of it. I hope all of this build up leads to Matt becoming the Green Ranger in the conclusion of this story (Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers: Rangers Forever #1), I mean come on he deserves to join the team and he is wearing a green shirt! Carlini does a great job with the emotions here, the scene where Kim as the Pink Ranger interacts with Matt is a prime example showing the emotion in Kim’s eyes through the visor makes that scene hit the perfect mark. Emotion is all she does right here, she fills the page with so much action that it rivals any episode of the series. Overall if you are a Ranger fan you need to be reading this and if you thought this was just about the downtime with no Ranger action, think again! No matter what draws you to Power Rangers, this issue has you covered! ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

Superman and Superboy must take on attacks from all fronts thanks to Jor-El just as Rogol Zaar and Zod escape the Phantom Zone. I have been enjoying, for the most part, Bendis’ run on Superman, but this issue shows the flaws with it. Everything is just a bit too much, We have three armies attacking them because of Jor-El but no idea what happened to cause it, then Superman fixes it with a few words to each party, then Zod and Zaar attack. I just felt like I was having a lot thrown at me without any real context. With that said though, I did still enjoy the non-stop action where I felt Superman was really being challenged, just a bit more context is needed. I am so happy that just Reis provided the art here, it made the book seem more cohesive than if the art chores had been split up between two or three artists as it has been. Reis’ art really gets to shine here and I love it. Overall while not the best issue of the run, it does deliver the action.  ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

Naomi finds out the truth about where she comes from and learns with great powers comes great villains. Settle down before you read this issue because it is a bit of an info dump. The info dump felt like 2-3 issues worth of content piled into one issue to get us ready for the “Season One Finale” in the next issue. Bendis and Walker did a great job adapting the Superman origin for Naomi putting enough twists to it to make it her own. The MVP here though is Campbell whose art just screams cinematic quality, drawing you into the story. Campbell is at the top of his game here, I hope he returns for Season two because I can not imagine anyone else drawing this book. Overall it is very text heavy but provides a beautiful backdrop for the info dumps.  ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

When The Looter attacks the school Spider-Man must leap into action putting him on Jameson’s list. I was worried to see that someone else was writing this issue, but Burnham does a great job carrying on the same feel and tone that Dawson had in the last arc. He does a great job introducing characters like Jameson, giving us a reason why he hates Spider-Man and setting up the Kravens for a new kind of Hunt. But what he does the best for me is the character moments with Peter, Miles, and Gwen and seeing that friendship and team take shape. Jones killed it on the art! I loved his Young Justice book and he brings that same fun and youthful energy here which really make these characters feel like teens. This may be an all-ages book, which usually means it is for kids, but both the writing and art does a great job appealing to older fans as well. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate
