Honorable Mention – Teen Titans – We’ve All Made Mistakes

 

 

This right here is the reason why Teen Titans is one of my favorite titles currently at DC. I love the character growth and how the team’s flaws are what brings them together.

 

5. Bettie Page Unbound #9 – It was Easy

 

 

 

I love the small glimpse at the psychology that went into Bettie killing her look alike.

 

4. Second Coming #6 – I’m Pregnant

 

 

That was a twist! What will this little miracle mean for the couple and their relationship with God?

 

3. Valkyrie: Jane Foster #7 – Cancerverse

 

 

I really liked Jane’s dissection of a very complicated question. As a Valkyie, a cancer survivor, and just a human she understands why the absence of death doesn’t automatically equate to life.

 

2. Runaways #29 – Coffee Stunts Your Growth!

 

 

I loved Molly and Nico’s rapport in this scene. Before you know it Molly is going to be taller than everyone on this team!

 

1. Runaways #29 – How Many Princess Justices Have There Been?

 

 

I love the tongue in cheek parody on superheroes! I can totally seeing this be a big event from DC and Marvel with their A-List heroes.

 

 

5. Archie #710 – Bored

 

 

Sabrina’s expression here tells us the mundane nature of Archie is starting to wear thin on the witch!

 

4. Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Black Cat Strikes #1 – Rude Awakening

 

 

 

Peter’s in for a surprise when he gets back to MJ, me thinks! Hanging with his spandex clad ex, yeah, probably not gonna go over too well!

 

3. Runaways #29 – Gert Speaks Up

 

 

This is a side of Gert we’ve only seen glimpses of for a while, but she was back in full form here, standing up for her friends and calling out the fishy ways of the J-Team!

 

2. Valkyrie, Jane Foster #7 – Cancerverse

 

 

Given Jane’s experience, and what we know of the actual Cancerverse, this was a perfect scene and a perfect justification. Showing her in her bandana from when she was sick just made the moment even more meaningful.

 

1. Legion of Super-Heroes #3 – Super Sons Reunited!

 

 

This was just a nice nod to fans of Jon and Damian together, and one I especially appreciated!

 

 

5. Red Mother #2 – Emotional Baggage 

 

 

It was so emotional to see Daisy coming to pick up her things.

 

4. Jessica Jones: Blindspot #1 – Perspective

 

 

I love how you get a perspective of what Jessica Jones sees as a private eye on a constant basis.

 

3. Red Mother #2 – What The Hell?

 

 

Okay so Daisy gets this special delivery, she opens the box, and this is what she finds. Now, I have more questions than ever before. I love the mystery!

 

2. Jessica Jones Blindspot #1 – Fancy Class

 

 

Wonderful seeing Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones together, looks like Matt has the magic touch where Jessica skipped the fancy class.

 

1. Dead Eyes #4 – Buzz Saw

 

 

This whole fight scene was amazing but the best part was Dead Eyes using a buzz saw to chop off the attacker’s hand, and just look at the expression on the dog’s face. This book’s fight scenes continue to amaze me!
